- Summer Making Math Connections workshops 2008 have been a huge success! Flagler,
Volusia, and Nassau counties in Florida, Piney Grove Elementary in North Carolina and two groups in Lewiston, Maine,
sponsored Making Math Connections workshops. Over 265 teachers in the three states have been trained just this
summer. In addition...
- The new 6-8 Making Math Connections workshop, hosted by Nassau County, was a lot of fun!
Middle and high school teachers spent four days conducting investigations in all math strands. Although the workshop
was written for middle school teachers, we welcomed the opportunity to extend the mathematics well into Algebra 2
concepts with our high school teachers. Thanks Nassau County!
- A big thank you to K-5 Kaplan in North Carolina for
providing awesome door prizes for MMC participants this summer. Teachers loved the prizes!
- A big thank you to the Texas Instruments Company also, for providing equally wonderful
door prizes for summer MMC participants. And...
- The big winners of classroom sets of elementary calculators were: Nancy Presnell from
Pathways Elementary won 25 TI-10 calculators and Margaret Wyland from Tomoka Elementary won the class set of
TI-15 calculators. Congratulations ladies!
- Did you know? To date, teachers in at least 25 states plus Ontario Canada have purchased
and are using Numeracy Centers in their classroom! Several districts in Florida have purchased Numeracy Centers
for every single elementary teacher. WOW! The word is spreading. Check out this great resource tool at

- Oklahoma teachers received a day of math training integrating elementary calculators. Sherry flew
to Tulsa in late May and worked with 40 K-8 teachers using TI-10, TI-15, and TI-73 calculators. It is exciting for
Vennlogic to reach out to a new state!
